CoralPaths Privacy Policy

CoralPaths is a social discovery and connection platform. People may use CoralPaths to discover communities, friendships, activities, travel connections, professional or social opportunities and, where available, romantic or dating connections.

The general CoralPaths service is available only to people aged 16 or older. Dating and romantic-discovery features are strictly limited to adults aged 18 or older.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how and why we use it, when we disclose it, how long we retain it, and the privacy rights and choices available to you.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

CoralPaths LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of Wyoming, United States, is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through CoralPaths unless a feature-specific notice states otherwise.

2. Where this Privacy Policy applies

This Policy applies to the CoralPaths mobile application, websites, customer support services, events and other products or services operated under the CoralPaths name, collectively referred to as the “Service.”

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Safety Guidance, subscription disclosures and any notice displayed when a feature requests sensitive information or device permission.

3. Personal data we collect

3.1 Information you provide

• Account information, including your name, username, email address, telephone number, authentication information, date of birth, language and account settings.
• Profile information, including photographs, biography, age, gender identity, pronouns, interests, languages, ethnicity, religion, education, employment, relationship preferences, travel interests and location description.
• Discovery preferences, including the people, activities, communities, friendships, trips or adult dating connections you want to discover.
• Content and communications, including profile content, photos, posts, reactions, likes, matches, messages, reports, appeals, feedback and customer-support communications.
• Verification information, including selfies, video selfies, identity-document images, liveness signals, verification results, fraud indicators and associated technical metadata.
• Subscription and transaction information, including your plan, product, purchase status, renewal, cancellation and transaction identifiers.
• Information you provide through surveys, promotions, research activities or events.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and network information, including device type, operating system, application version, language, time zone, IP address, identifiers and security signals.
• Service activity needed to operate requested features, including searches, filters, likes, matches and message-delivery events.
• Diagnostic information, including crash reports, performance data and application errors.
• Safety and integrity information used to detect scams, spam, bots, abusive behavior, account compromise and violations of our rules.

3.3 Location information

With your permission, CoralPaths may collect precise location data from your device. We may otherwise determine an approximate location using your IP address or a location you provide.

We may use location information for nearby discovery, distance calculation, travel mode, regional settings, fraud prevention and safety purposes.

You can change location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may limit location-based features.

3.4 Information received from other sources

We may receive information from:

• Apple App Store and Google Play;
• sign-in and linked-account providers;
• Google Cloud and Firebase;
• MongoDB and database service providers;
• identity and selfie-verification providers;
• email, SMS and push-notification providers;
• diagnostics, fraud-prevention and moderation providers;
• other CoralPaths users; and
• publicly available sources where permitted by law.

4. Sensitive personal data

Information you choose to provide may reveal sensitive information, including sexual orientation, sex life, gender identity, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information or biometric information.

Sensitive profile fields are optional unless clearly stated otherwise. Where required, we will request your explicit consent before processing sensitive personal data.

A photograph or selfie is not automatically biometric data. It may become biometric data when technical processing is used to uniquely identify or authenticate a person.

Before using biometric identification, CoralPaths will provide a separate notice explaining the provider, purpose, legal basis, retention period, information created and available alternatives.

5. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

• create, authenticate and maintain accounts;
• display profiles and enable discovery;
• provide likes, matches, connections and messaging;
• provide blocking, reporting and safety features;
• personalize recommendations and search results;
• provide subscriptions and paid features;
• verify purchases and subscription status;
• provide customer support;
• send account, security and service notifications;
• detect fraud, spam, scams and account compromise;
• investigate reports and enforce our rules;
• protect users, minors, CoralPaths and the public;
• measure performance and troubleshoot technical problems;
• develop, test and improve features;
• comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory duties; and
• establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, including in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, we rely on:

• Contract: processing necessary to create your account and provide the features you request.
• Legitimate interests: securing, operating and improving CoralPaths, preventing abuse, understanding service performance and protecting legal rights.
• Consent: where you enable precise location, optional device permissions, sensitive profile information or biometric verification.
• Legal obligations: processing required for tax, accounting, consumer protection, lawful requests and other regulatory duties.
• Vital interests or substantial public interest: exceptional circumstances involving immediate threats, safety, child protection or another legally recognized ground.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

7. Recommendations and automated systems

CoralPaths may use automated systems to recommend or rank profiles, activities and content based on preferences, approximate distance, activity, compatibility signals, safety signals and use of the Service.

Automated systems may also identify suspected fraud, spam, impersonation, underage use or policy violations.

We do not intend to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects unless permitted by law and accompanied by appropriate safeguards.

Where required, you may request human review, express your point of view and contest an automated decision.

8. Information visible to other users

CoralPaths is designed for discovery and connection. Profile information, photographs, approximate location or distance, verification status, activity indicators and content you publish may be visible to other users.

Messages are visible to their recipients. Recipients may save, screenshot, copy or share information outside CoralPaths. We cannot control what another person does with information they receive.

Do not publish passwords, financial information, identity-document numbers, precise home or work addresses or other information you do not want another person to retain.

9. How we disclose personal data

We may disclose personal data to:

• Other users where necessary to provide profiles, discovery, matching, messaging and shared features.
• Cloud-hosting, database, authentication, communications, diagnostics, moderation, verification, fraud-prevention, customer-support and security providers.
• Apple and Google for application distribution, subscriptions, purchases and device services.
• Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, investors and business-transaction participants subject to confidentiality obligations.
• Courts, regulators, law-enforcement agencies and other public authorities when legally required.
• Other parties where reasonably necessary to protect users, minors, CoralPaths or the public from serious harm.
• A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, insolvency or transfer of the business.

CoralPaths does not sell personal data for money or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Diagnostics and service reliability

CoralPaths uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes, diagnose technical problems and improve application stability and security.

Crash reports may include application and device information, crash traces, diagnostic logs, a Crashlytics installation identifier and a Firebase installation identifier. CoralPaths does not intentionally include message content, precise location, names or email addresses in Crashlytics reports.

Firebase retains Crashlytics crash traces and associated identifiers for approximately 90 days before beginning deletion from its live and backup systems. CoralPaths does not currently use Firebase Analytics or personalized advertising.

11. International data transfers

CoralPaths is intended for worldwide use. Personal data may be processed in the EEA and in countries where our providers or users operate.

Where required, international transfers will be protected using an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where valid and applicable, binding corporate rules or another lawful transfer mechanism.

12. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, protect users, comply with legal duties, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

• Active-account information is retained while your account remains open.
• Deleted-account profile information will be removed from active visibility and deleted or de-identified within 30 days, except where continued retention is legally justified.
• Backup information will be overwritten or isolated from ordinary use within 90 days.
• Messages may be retained while relevant accounts remain active. Following account deletion, the deleted user's copy will be deleted or de-identified within 30 days, but messages may remain visible to recipients. Messages connected to reports, safety investigations or legal obligations may be retained for the applicable safety-retention period below.
• Reports, moderation decisions and fraud or safety records may be retained for up to 5 years after the report, enforcement action or account closure, whichever occurs later, where necessary to prevent repeated abuse and defend legal claims. We may retain them longer when required for an active investigation, legal claim or legal obligation.
• Verification and biometric-related information will be retained for the period stated in the applicable verification notice.
• Transaction, accounting and tax records will be retained for the period required by applicable law.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access your personal data;
• receive a copy of your personal data;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request deletion of your data;
• restrict certain processing;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• withdraw consent;
• request data portability;
• limit the use of sensitive personal data;
• request review of certain automated decisions; and
• appeal the denial of a privacy request where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

EEA users may complain to the data-protection authority where they live, work or believe a violation occurred.

14. Account deletion

Deleting the CoralPaths application does not delete your account. Delete your account through Settings → Account → Delete Account or contact privacy@coralpaths.com.

Deleting your account may not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel store subscriptions through the applicable store settings.

15. Minors and age assurance

The general Service is not intended for anyone under 16. Dating and romantic-discovery features are not available to anyone under 18. We may apply a higher minimum age where local law requires it.

Users aged 16 or 17 will not be shown in adult dating discovery and must not be discoverable by adults through dating features.

CoralPaths may use proportionate age-assurance measures and may restrict, suspend or delete accounts when age requirements cannot be verified.

If you believe a child under 16 or a minor using an adult-only feature has provided personal data, contact privacy@coralpaths.com immediately.

16. Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed for the nature and risk of the data we process. These may include access controls, encryption, monitoring, secure development, vulnerability management, provider reviews and incident-response procedures.

No service can guarantee complete security. Protect your credentials and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

17. SDKs and device permissions

The CoralPaths mobile application uses software development kits and essential device storage for authentication, security, preferences, notifications and crash diagnostics. CoralPaths does not currently use advertising pixels or Firebase Analytics.

Camera, photo-library, microphone, contacts, precise location and notification permissions will be used only when enabled and as explained when the permission is requested.

You can manage device permissions through your operating-system settings.

18. Third-party services

CoralPaths may link to or integrate with third-party services. Their independent processing is governed by their own privacy policies. Review those policies before providing information to a third party.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy when our Service, legal obligations or data-processing practices change. We will post the revised Policy and update the date at the top of this page.

Where required, we will provide prominent notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
